Ever since I have tasted KALE in California two years ago, I was stunned by its very special flavour: hard texture with smooth surface, tart but also sweet flavour, not at all cabbagy but definitively very „green“. Although many friends in the US have horrible childhood memories of kale, I really fell in love with it, perhaps also because it is not at all known in Germany. Whatever, since we have come back here, it is growing in my garden; I even found seeds to order (in German its name is „Palm-Grünkohl“).
But whenever I want to cook it or prepare a meal with it, I just don’t know what to do with it. In these cases, I visit my favorite food blog and ALWAYS find a wonderful way to bring kale to my family’s table. This time, it was LITTLE KALE BITES and the idea of Heidi to put stripes of baking parchment into the muffin tin to better remove the muffins after baking was wonderful. I will keep this up with other kinds of muffins as well!
And: spring is coming. I feel it.
