I had a long day at work, just exhausting. When I came home, I was welcomed by four happy family members that had spent all day long in our wood workshop. Dusty, wooden-smelling kids. And also a dusty husband. They had also be working all day long. But in their own rhythm, with their own ideas what to make, with cozy breaks in between and with a little help of their daddy according to their skills. (Just to say: all these „working condititons“ are in total contrast to my job). Well. The oldest made a wooden bowl („for our next camping trip in the wilderness“) all by himself. The second boy worked on a little bathtub for our fairy house, decided then it should be made into a sailing boat. With quiet some help with the carving and my help with sewing the sail he made it happen. And the little girl wanted to make a „boat to drive“. Well, it looks like a little car to me. But it is definitively a boat!
It honestly fills my heart with joy. Seeing (and smelling!) these wooden toys. And coming home to a bunch of dusty, dirty, sweaty, proud, smiling little (and big) ones that I love to bits and pieces.
