This was our solstice weekend:
– for the first time we harvested a lot of currants from our garden (first time the chickens did not eat them first!), so there were fresh waffels, whipped cream and currants.
– with all the broken legs and accidents in the past weeks there was some quiet paper time; their dear daddy helped the boys finish their origami elephants.
– birthday of my dear friend D., whom I surprised with a homemade tarragon soda sirup by Heidi Swanson (still one of favorite chefs since years!) and a book I am eager to read myself
– solstice festivity in the kindergarden of the little girl. She was so proud to have a garden flower crown woven in a rainbow. But still irritated by the fact that she was physically compromised by her leg. A lot of observing from mommy’s arms.
Well, everybody is just looking forward to the summer break….my bones feel the same! Hope you had a great solstice weekend!
